Harringworth – Northamptonshire

A courtyard and terrace were rejuvenated to provide an inviting place to entertain and socialise. The levels of the space were reconfigured to connect the newly designed area to the rest of the garden, creating a garden that worked as a whole.

The courtyard was situated between the house and an outbuilding, with multiple rooms from inside the house looking out onto this area. To help soften this space, loose, gravel garden-inspired pockets of planting were added with a meandering gravel pathway winding through the planting.

The house, made from locally quarried sandstone, was the influencing factor for the material choices in the garden. Ensuring that they were in-keeping with the age of the property and retained the rustic, timeless atmosphere of the garden.
