Laxton, Northamptonshire

With fantastic views of fields and woodland beyond, this large garden needed a layout that wouldn’t compete with the surrounding landscape.

The main terrace now provides a space to entertain and socialise with multiple seating areas across two different levels. The back of the house is aligned with the end of the garden to create a long, uninterrupted vista, framed by deep plant-filled borders.

A pathway is offset to one side of the garden and leads from the house down to a small seating area that catches the most sunlight all day. Towards the bottom of the garden, the shapes soften to connect with the surrounding countryside. A collection of fruit trees conceal a summerhouse positioned to enjoy the setting sun as it dips below the treeline. Photos coming soon…
